Microsoft users have many expectations from the upcoming Windows 10 operating system, especially fueled by the fact that Windows 8 and the subsequent 8.1 update have been perceived as a flop. But it seems that Redmond has learned from its mistakes, and under fresh and resourceful new management, it has started to adjust its strategy and now seems to be on the right path.

And essential to Microsoft’s new vision is the future of Windows 10 and how well it manages to sell to an audience that wants to get the right mix of mobile and desktop features in a single product. But besides this, Microsofts needs to target new users, and that’s exactly what it is trying to do with the announced Windows 10 support for Raspberry Pi 2.

The new Raspberry Pi 2 brings better performance with a quad-core CPU, doubles the RAM to 1GB and still only costs $35. And along with the great news that the new generation has the same affordable price, Microsoft is going to offer the IoT SKU support of Windows 10 for the popular credit card-sized single-board computer.
Raspberry Pi 2 has an ARMv7 processor, which allows it to run the full range of ARM GNU/Linux distributions, which includes Snappy Ubuntu Core, as well as Microsoft Windows 10.
