Now You can Use WhatsApp on Web Browser

We had previously told how you can use WhatsApp on Desktop which basically involved clumsy means and sometimes rooting of your Android smartphone to make it work. But not anymore. WhatsApp is now officially available on web browser. To be clear, the web client is merely an extension of the mobile app and will let you mirror the conversations and messages from your mobile device – which means the data still lives on the phone.

Right now, the WhatsApp Web is live on https://web.whatsapp.com/ and you’ll need to open that in the Google Chrome browser, scan the QR code (from WhatsApp) that it displays with your phone and you are good to go! That pairs the phone and your web browser. Make sure you have upgraded to the latest version of WhatsApp on your phone before trying this.
This new web client will NOT work with iOS devices, which WhatsApp claims is due to Apple’s restrictions. So, go ahead and try it out if you are on Android, BlackBerry or Windows Phone.
If you are on Android and can’t see “WhatsApp Web” under Menu, you can go to https://www.whatsapp.com/android/ and download latest version of apk. Basically you need to have the version 2.11.498 or newer for this to work. [Update: This looks like a server side thing which needs to be enabled for your account. Some people are reporting that they still don’t see the option to scan QR code even with the latest version. You just got to wait before they roll out to everyone]
