1. Always backup the data on your iPhone or iPod touch or iPad using iTunes before upgrading/restoring the firmware version.

3. There are different types of jailbreaking tools – tethered or untethered. A tethered jailbreak means that once your iPhone is successfully jailbroken with tools like blackra1n, whenever your device shuts down, you are required to connect it to your computer and re-run the jailbreaking tool for the device to start.
