WhatsApp
is always busy adding new features to its service which is being used
by hundreds of millions across the entire globe. A couple of previous
updates that we talked about include options to hide your ‘last seen’, photo and status, the message read status, the ability to use it on web browsers and the voice calling feature, as well.
Now, according to a fresh report coming from Android Police, it seems that they are working on a special feature that would allow users to back-up their chat history and media files to Google Drive. WhatsApp does come already with an option that lets you move your chat history, but it is not as easy or straightforward for the average user.
Also, the feature can be restricted to Wi-Fi only, just in case you have a limit on your cellular data. This feature is meant for those who are switching devices and don’t want to lose their history. Also, the restore function will work when the app launches on a new device, so if you won’t pay attention, you might lose the old backup.
