After demoing the new features that come with the OS X 10.9 Maverick software, that will also be available as a free download, Apple has also announced the expected MacBook Pro lineup update. The new 13-inch MacBook Pro model is now thinner and lighter, measuring 0.71 inches in thickness and weighing only 3.46 pounds. It comes with a more affordable price than previous version at $1299 (cheaper by $200) but it also has a smaller 128 GB SSD drive.

The 13 inch version of the MacBook Pro comes with Retina display, a 2.4 Ghz dual-core i5 Haswell chip and a 4GB DRAM. The new 13-inch MacBook Pro has a battery life of up to nine hours and it comes with Intel’s Haswell chip and Iris graphics, which, according to Apple, should make it up to 90 percent faster than the previous generation. The 13 incher’s battery is also said to withstand a continuous iTunes video playback for 9 hours. Just like the 15-inch version, the cheaper 13-inch MacBook Pro comes with faster PCI Express solid-state drives and 802.11ac WiFi which should make it three times as fast than the previous generation.

The 15 inch version of the MacBook Pro comes with the new 2.0 Ghz quad-core i7 Crystalwell chip with Iris Pro graphics and a you can get the GeForce 750M video card on a more expensive version. Its battery will last for 8 hours on battery and comes with Thunderbolt 2. The pricing starts at $1999, which is also $200 down from the previous $2,199 price. Other important specs include Retina display, 8GB DRAM and a 256 GB SSD.
